What We Believe
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of...
2 Timothy 3:14
The Bible
We believe the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inerrant, verbally inspired Word of God, and it is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. We use the King James Version at Lighthouse.
God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each fully God, equal in nature, distinct in person, and united in purpose.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal, visible return.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates the believer, indwells and seals every Christian at salvation, and empowers the local church for service and witness.
Humanity & Sin
We believe that all people are created in the image of God, but through Adam's fall, all have sinned and are spiritually dead, unable to save themselves, and in need of God's grace.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is a free gift of God, not earned by works, and results in eternal life for all who believe.
The Church
We believe in the local church as a body of gathered, baptized believers, gathered to worship God, preach the Gospel, observe the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper, and build up one another in the faith.
Baptism & The Lord's Supper
We believe in believer's baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith, and in the Lord's Supper as a memorial of Christ's sacrifice. Both are ordinances of the church, not means of salvation.
Eternal Life & Judgment
We believe in the imminent rapture of the saints, a seven-year tribulation, and a literal 1,000-year reign. We believe that all will give an account before the holy and righteous Judge. Because of Christ, believers can spend an eternity in God's presence. Unbelievers will be cast into the Lake of Fire. We look forward to the return of Christ and the establishment of His kingdom.
Come and see.
It's difficult to unpack all of Scripture on a simple, easy-to-read beliefs page on a website, but hopefully this gives you a general idea of our beliefs. If you have questions, we encourage you to come be our guest for a service and see for yourself who we are and, more importantly, who Jesus is.
